***View Kid's Impressive Progeny***
Kid has been with us a long time. He has been our primary stallion, continuing to produce offspring that are powerful ambassadors of the Curly breed.
We bought Kid on April 18, 1999 from a young boy who had been using him for 4-H....Kid was 5 years old and was broke to ride and drive......they had been using Kid to do their winter chores. The story as told to us by his parents is that they had decided to sell Kid after their Vet had refused to geld Kid telling them "His temperament and build are too valuable to the Curly breed to take him out of the gene pool". As this family were seriously into breeding pure bred Quarter Horses, they decided to see if they could find Kid a breeding home. We saw the ad they put in the paper so I gave them a call. We had not planned on becoming breeders of the Curly but something about that ad told me to call. We took the trailer with us for the 8 hour trip to go and see him.....that turned out to be a good thing because we fell in love with him almost immediately.
Kid was jumping around and dancing like he could hardly contain himself when we walked into his pen and he immediately came running up to us.....it was a little unnerving because even though Kid is not overly tall he has a "big horse" persona about him. My husband saddled him up and off they went for a ride. Rick was grinning from ear to ear when he got back. Needless to say Kid traveled back home with us and we are thankful daily for the impact Kid has made on our lives and horses over the years. He is truly a phenomenal horse that words fail to do justice to. His babies are born fearless and bold.....they have a steadiness about them that make handling, training, and riding them a joy. Now that we have quite a few of Kid's babies under saddle, it is also apparent that his smooth ground covering gaits are being passed along with his amazing temperament.......Kid you are one in a million and we love you.
We could probably talk your ear off with stories about his amazing examples of his character but the very best convincer is to meet him in "person" and then you know firsthand. He produces 100% curl to date. His solid build, great athleticism and great mind are a winning combination for the most versatile mount. Can be used for hand breeding, pasture breeding, AI breeding and teasing. Kid is considered an extreme curly. Read more about extreme traits.
